4. Wine Trap
My friend taught this method before I came to know about plug-in traps. It works similarly to a vinegar trap. The difference here is that you use an old wine, which contains sugar. Have a bowl with plastic wrap over top or better don’t cover the bottle on the counter and trap the drunk gnats inside. This method wasn’t as effective as I thought until I added a teaspoon of dish soap to the wine.
5. Candle Traps
I tried the candle method once, but I can tell you it’s a dangerous approach, even though it gives quicker results. To me, it isn’t worth it, but I will show you how I did it if you are interested.
Fill a pan with ¼ inch of water. Add a teaspoon of dish soap and place it on the counter. Put a candleholder in the water and place a candle in the holder.
Turn off all lights and light the candle. The candle flame will attract the gnats. They will try to fly into the flame, fall into soapy water, and die. The dangerous part of this method is that it can cause a fire outbreak in the home if you don’t monitor it.

It doesn’t contain harmful substances, and you don’t need to monitor it. Plug it anywhere in your kitchen or house and watch it attract, trap, and electrocute all those stubborn gnats.
